Teaching Philosophy
"The arts teach children that problems can have more than one solution and that questions can have more than one answer." -Elliot Eisner

My classroom offers a space for students to experiment with different media and techniques and find success in a variety of processes. Students will be able to describe, analyze, interpret and evaluate different works of Art, created by themselves and other artists. Students will learn the correct vocabulary to critique work and gain a better understanding of different cultures, as well as, themselves and their own aesthetic interests.
I personally believe that each student has the potential to succeed in Art in a variety of different ways. It is my role as an educator to help students learn the process of creating, critiquing, and experimentation. My goal is for students to find a way to express themselves and their experiences through the use of the elements and principles of Art! |
